Wes and I have known each other since 1992 when we were both Freshman at Watauga High School. We knew who the other one was, but didn't hang out or know each other well. As life does, it took us different directions over the course of the next couple of decades, but we stayed connected by mutual friends and community groups. We would see each other at church or in town, and always enjoyed our conversations and interactions.

In February of 2023, Wes was looking for some advice and help for a loved one, and my name came to his mind as someone who may have the community connections to offer some advice. We hadn't spoken in several years, and no longer lived in the same time, so it was such a surprise to get a call from him! Our chat on the phone was great, catching up , sharing memories, and laughing. We hung up that phone promising to meet for coffee the next time Wes was in Boone.

On a snowy morning, March 14th 2023, Wes and I met for coffee at Kovu in Boone. Two hours of wonderful conversation opened the door for more communication, connection and eventually a day trip to Winston Salem ( where Was was living). Wes planned a perfect day of shopping, fun restaurants, and exploring. From that day on, our relationship blossomed!

Wes and I fell in love quickly, but also intentionally, guarding each others hearts and delicately balancing the blending of our family units, community and children. It wasn't long before we knew that God had led us to each other, and that spending the rest of our lives together was inevitable .

We have loved falling in love, learning about each other, and just having the most fun! We love to travel and explore small towns, big cities, and even be tourist in our own town! We have loved blending our kids and family units, and leaning in to what God is doing in our lives. We are abundantly thankful that we found each other, and for the blessing of loving each other for the rest of our days!
